An open-air museum, lively and festive: this is the approach taken for these June 22 and 23, 2024 by the Compa museum, conservatory of Agriculture, in Chartres.

If the Compa museum, in Chartres, immerses visitors in the history of agricultural machinery, the “Turn engines” operation allows you to wake up the oldest tractors with entertainment and joyful parades, to the sound of the engines purring and the musical troupe of Percussions de l’étable.

Behind the scenes of the Compa museum reserve, near La Loupe, which has exceptionally opened its doors

In addition to these tractor parades characteristic of the technical evolution of the 20th century, organized in the morning and afternoon, conferences, stands, guided family tours, entertainment, and astonishing propulsion rides allow a very wide audience – young and old. adults – to see the museum in a new light.

“It’s an event that has not been organized since 2029,” highlights Dylan Courtin, in charge of the museum’s collections. This year, we changed the format on the theme of restoring the collections, also taking the tractors outside. We wanted to introduce the site to the general public, not just to connoisseurs, with all the societal dimension towards which Compa has been oriented in recent years. »
