It's one of his all first releases since the Goncourt prize. Winner of the highest French literary distinction, Kamel Daoud and his work Houris (ed. Gallimard), have been filling bookstore shelves for several days. On the occasion of book fair d'Asnières-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine), which takes place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2024, the author will present his work and will dedicate it. Many authors will also present their books during this weekend.

A literary prize organized by the city

The meeting with the author will take place on Sunday, in the enchanting setting of Asnières castle – in which the book fair takes place – and will begin at 2:45 p.m. Kamel Daoud will return to his work, a study of “black decade” in Algeria, through the “voice” of a young heroine who suffered from it.

During this literary weekend, he will not be the only one to present his work and lend himself to signing game. The former Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot, will sign her latest book Holy monsters (ed. Plon), just like Patrick Sébastien or even Marc Lévy.

Throughout the show, literary concertsmeetings and workshops for all ages will punctuate the event. The city prize will also be awarded to a book having relating to travelfrom a selection of 4 works. The winner will leave with luggage designed by Louis Vuittonconsistent with the theme of the distinction, and whose historic headquarters is in Asnières-sur-Seine.
