As part of an agreement with the animal protection association 30 million friendsthe green brigade of the municipal police ofAbbeville is leading a campaign to sterilize and identify stray cats within the city itself.

The latest session was held the week of June 3 to June 7, and the next ones will take place from September 4 to 8 and October 16 to 20 inclusive.

Almost six campaigns per year

The procedure is simple. The cats are identified by the locals, then the green brigade is kept informed of the whereabouts of the stray cat.

They place a trap with food, to attract the cat.

Once it is inside, it closes and the green brigade places a cover over the trap, so as not to frighten the animal.

Cats released at the place of capture

After this step, they check if the cat is indeed a stray cat, then head to the local veterinarian to sterilize them. Once the operation is complete, they are released at the original capture location, with identification in the name of 30 million friends.
