They were arrested the day after the attack. Three men were indicted this Thursday, June 20, including two for attempted murders and a third for evading a criminal from arrest or search. All were also placed in pre-trial detention. They are suspected of being involved in the knife attack, which took place on Monday June 17 in the Borny district, in Metz, and which left five injured.

These three suspects are aged 27 to 29 and are of Afghan nationality. They were arrested and taken into custody the day after the attack. Very quickly, the Metz public prosecutor’s office had also ruled out the terrorist trail, explaining that the preferred hypothesis was that of extortionin other words a racket.

Five men were in fact injured with knives on Monday morning in a grocery store in the Borny district. Two of them were also still hospitalizedWednesday evening, because more seriously affected.

A judicial investigation was therefore opened by the Metz public prosecutor’s office, and the investigation was entrusted to an investigating judgein order to understand the ins and outs of this affair.
