Discover the ten students who will represent Lozère during the twentieth regional Ovinpiades

This Thursday, November 14, 2024, the departmental competition for the best young shepherds took place on the premises of the Terre Nouvelle high school in Marvejols. On the program: trimming, sorting of lambs, sorting of ewes, choice of breeding rams, state of health of the animals, handling and theoretical quiz.

Seventy students from the Terre Nouvelle high schools, in Marvejols, and François-Rabelais, in Saint-Chély-d'Apcher, but also from the CFA in Marvejols, participated, this Thursday, November 14, in the twentieth departmental Ovinpiades, organized by the Commission sheep 48.

In the premises of the Marvejolais high school, seven exercises were on the program: trimming, sorting of lambs, sorting of ewes, choice of breeding rams, state of health of the animals, handling and theoretical quiz.

At the end of this day, ten young shepherds were selected to represent Lozère during the regional Ovinpiades, which will take place in Figeac (Lot) in January 2025, before the national final of the International Agricultural Show.
