the supersonic Madosh Tambwe is preparing to bid farewell to the Union Bordeaux-Bègles –

Before joining Montpellier this summer, Madosh Tambwe plays the luxury joker for Bordeaux-Bègles. He shone in the play-off against Racing 92 and could be an asset for the semi-final against Stade Français.

Frequently supplanted by wingers Damian Penaud and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Madosh Tambwe, before his departure for Montpellier this summer, plays the luxury jokers for Bordeaux-Bègles. This Saturday, the team faces Stade Français in the semi-final of the Top 14. Last Sunday, the fast Congolese winger broke the deadlock during the play-off against Racing 92, shortly after learning that his future club, Montpellier, would remain in Top 14. In September 2022, he had already made an impression at Chaban by scoring a double against Toulouse, revealing Laurent Marti’s talent for unearthing promising wingers.

Tambwe, with his 26 tries in 48 matches for three South African franchises, impressed in the Top 14, brightening up an eventful 2022-2023 season with the ousting of Christophe Urios. He was also the hero of the victorious play-off in Lyon in June 2023. This season, with the arrival of Penaud, Tambwe had to fight for a place. “With my non-JIFF status, it’s a bit complicated”he confided in February, explaining that his future could be played out elsewhere, despite proposals from Clermont and Montpellier.

His imminent departure to the MHR has not reduced his impact. An injury to Penaud allowed him to shine against Harlequins and return to the rotation. On Sunday, he once again turned the match against Racing 92 on its head, celebrating his try with fervor. Despite this, his presence in the starting XV for the semi-final against Stade Français remains uncertain.
