A 57-year-old gendarme, adjutant in the surveillance and intervention platoon (PSIG) of L'Isle-Adam (Val-d'Oise) ended his life this Monday, November 11, we learned. Bertrand Deloffe was due to retire next March. His funeral will take place this Saturday in Abbeville (Somme).
One of his comrades paid tribute to him in a message published on social networks: “Every day, you wore the uniform with honor, and you never backed down from challenges, even when life tested you. You knew how to listen, you knew how to comfort, and your presence always brought strength , support, invaluable comfort”.

This is at least the eleventh police officer who has killed himself since the start of the year.
