Mayhem for users of the SNCF , and Brest – Paris lines, this Wednesday, November 13, 2024. A break in the catenary, at Saint-Martin-des-Champs, near Morlaix (Finistère), prevents trains from running in both directions.

A level crossing blocked with the barriers lowered

Users who were on board the Paris – Brest train at the time of the incident are therefore invited to get off upstream of Brest (Saint-Brieuc or Morlaix for example). Some will be able to reach Landerneau by bus, then Brest via the TER line.

In Saint-Martin-des-Champs and the Keriven area, a TGV traveling from Brest to Paris was blocked. The 150 passengers were evacuated and taken care of by coaches chartered by the SNCF. The police were present off the tracks to ensure the safety of users.

A series of trains are canceled between Brest, Morlaix and Lannion indicates TER Breizhgo on X.

On the Landivisiau side, due to the incident, a train found itself stopped, near the D33 level crossing. The level crossing barriers were automatically lowered and remained blocked for approximately 45 minutes, obstructing car traffic. The police quickly asked the cars to turn around and set up an alternative route.

SNCF teams are mobilized to repair the incident but their intervention may take time and a return to normal is not expected before 8 p.m.
