Morocco records a historic record for tourist attendance with 14.6 million visitors at the end of October 2024, thus exceeding the total for the year 2023 in just ten months. This figure, announced by the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, during her trip to Dakhla, marks an increase of 19% compared to the same period in 2023, or 2.3 million additional arrivals.
This growth is driven both by foreign tourists (+22%, or 1.3 million additional visitors) and by Moroccans living abroad (+16%, or 1 million visitors). The month of October 2024 particularly contributed to this performance with around 1.5 million visitors, recording an increase of 30% compared to October 2023.
The minister underlined, from Dakhla, the importance of this dynamic for Morocco, which consolidates its place among the leading destinations of world tourism. She also praised the role of royal leadership and the promotional work which makes it possible to promote the wealth and diversity of experiences offered to travelers, from the north to the south of the country.
