The town of La Trinité-sur-Mer (Morbihan) warns its inhabitants. Cases of abusive canvassing were reported in the town. Of fake touts are rife in the town.

Canvassing fires for fiber optic connection were reported in the town. “A certain number of companies, presenting themselves on behalf of telecoms operators in the municipality, are currently canvassing at home or by telephone, in order to offer fiber optic connections,” informs the community.

But be careful not to fall into the trap. “The direct seller often asks to enter homes to supposedly check wiring and interior installations, which is not necessary, the fiber being connected directly by the chosen operator,” explains the municipality.

He then proposes the immediate signing of a contract, claiming for example that the Internet will be cut off in the coming weeks due to the dismantling of the fixed copper network this year, which is completely false, as this dismantling should not take place before at best. 2028/2029.

Beware of email scams
