The warning sirens blared this Wednesday morning at Frontignan-la-Peyrade and yet, it's not the first of the month. No panic, here's why: a civil security exercise linked to technological risk, led by the prefect of Hérault as part of the Orsec departmental system, is taking place this Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in the morning, within the confines of the GDH company –Management of Hydrocarbon Deposits– located in the town of Frontignan-la Peyrade, between Montpellier and Sète.
This exercise resulted in the triggering of warning sirens of the industrial and the municipality, as well as the use of theoutil FR-Alert which allows notifications to be sent to the mobile phones of people present in the danger zone. A security perimeter is set up by the authorities.
The exercise allows you to test:
► the internal industrial phase : during this first part the Internal Operation Plan (POI) will be tested by the industrialist, the commitment of its own resources and the pre-alert of State services.
► the Particular Intervention Plan (PPI) phase : the prefect of Hérault will take charge of Relief Operations (DOS). A Departmental Operational Center (COD) is planned in the prefecture as well as an Operational Command Post (PCO) on site.
► coordination of all services involved : State services (prefecture, DREAL, DDTM), Frontignan town hall, Sdis 34, Gendarmerie, National Police, ARS, departmental council.
The prefect of Hérault, François-Xavier Lauch, recalls that regular training of actors involved in crisis management (internal security forces, firefighters, etc.) is essential to test the maneuvers, operational systems and inter-coordination. -services.
