This is new recognition for Gojira. The Basque-Landais metal group has just been nominated in the “best metal performance” category for the next Grammy Awards which will take place next February on the side of Los Angeles (UNITED STATES). It was for their remarkable performance at the opening of the Paris Olympic Games that the Duplantier brothers (Joe and Mario) and Christian Andreu were invited to go to California.
With Metallica
On July 26, 2024, they performed “Mea Culpa (Ah! It will be okay)” on the balconies of the Conciergerie in Paris with the lyrical singer Marina Viotti. A performance which remains one of the highlights of this ceremony today.
This is the fourth time that Gojira has been nominated for the Grammy Awards after 2017 (two nominations), 2022 and finally 2025. On February 2, the French metallers will face them MetallicaJudas Priest, Knocked Loose featuring Poppy et Spiritbox.
