The village experienced a memorable evening with the long-awaited preview of the Théâtre de Verdure, Saturday June 15. Nestled in the heart of the village, impasse de l’Évêché, this cultural space was inaugurated with a performance by the Sète choir, directed by Franck Fontcouberte. The public, who came in large numbers, had the pleasure of discovering this new harmonious site, carefully landscaped and surrounded by greenery.

A natural and unique setting

Located near the historic buildings of the old Saint-Geniès chapel, the theater is shaded by majestic olive trees and opens onto a wooded horizon, and can accommodate several hundred spectators. Mayor Marcel Stoecklin expressed his satisfaction at the end of this evening: “The place offers a magnificent setting in the continuity of the discovery of the circulation of the historic center of Gigean. We are very happy with the rendering and the atmosphere offered, and we will undertake other arrangements for the comfort of spectators and artists afterwards.”

This project, initiated by the mayor himself, was carried out with great finesse by the elected delegate for culture Danielle Novis. The Théâtre de Verdure promises to become an essential place for locals and visitors, offering a unique cultural experience in a natural and historic setting. This opening evening marks the start of a new era for culture in the town, with events that promise to be just as captivating and enriching. The place will be officially inaugurated on Saturday June 28, at 8:30 p.m., with a jazz concert given by Pierre Coulon Cerisier Quartet and Beppe Caruso (free entry).
