Organized by Double V, the Saint-Gilles Tourist Office and the winegrowers of the Costières de Nîmes appellation, the Electro Terrasses of the Abbatiale return this summer to the delight of Saint-Gilles residents.

It’s 7 p.m. on the square in front of the abbey church of Saint-Gilles this Friday. The crowds are still shy, the winegrowers and food trucks are making their final preparations… The Electro Terraces of the Abbatiale are returning once again this summer to liven up the Saint-Gilloise evenings! On the program, free DJ sets with the UNESCO World Heritage building as a backdrop.

Kiara, one of the DJs scheduled that evening (and community manager of Double V, the event agency also organizing the event): “It’s a meeting place for people from here, it allows you to discover electro music at the foot of the abbey church which is still a historic monument…” Cebb, Elisia and Kaive will also take turns on the turntables.

In addition to the music, local gastronomy was also in the spotlight. The Saint-Gillois winegrowers of the Costières de Nîmes appellation presented six wines: three whites, one red and two rosés. The Bibine and Ripaille wine bar, also from Saint-Gilles, offered platters as an aperitif “We are very happy to be there and to offer our artisanal products!” explains Mélanie, one of the owners.

Visitors could also enjoy bull burgers or pancakes and other sweets thanks to the food trucks present. “It’s the first time we’re participating,” explains Pascale from the top of her Torotruck. “It seems that it’s an event that works well, in any case we’re coming back in July!”
