“Becoming a volunteer for two or three hours in a store near you is experiencing an exceptional moment of solidarity and conviviality” : the Dordogne Food Bank is looking for volunteers for its major national collection, which will take place in Dordogne in around a hundred supermarkets in the department Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November. More than 800 people will be mobilized to ensure this food collection, the donations of which are then redistributed to 60 associations in Périgord, CCAS and social grocery stores.

“The increase in needs continues” this year, and the food bank supports 10,000 people in difficulty in the department. In November 2023, the collection had made it possible to collect 92 tonnes of food products, the equivalent of 184,000 meals.

“Great need for support”

“We have a great need for support: management executives, network coordinators, drivers, sorters, prospectors, IT specialists, school/college relations facilitators, etc. to relieve or renew our teams”writes the association in a press release. Volunteers mobilized during the National Collection can continue their experience by getting involved all year round for 1, 2 or 3 ½ days per week in the Dordogne Food Bank in the area of ​​their choice.
