The dramatic drowning of a 3-year-old girl in the Bocage swimming pool left its mark in Vitré. After being placed in an induced coma, she died in hospital on Saturday November 9.
“It is with infinite sadness that we learn of the death of the little girl,” reacted Vitré Communauté, the manager of the equipment, in a press release. “All the elected officials and agents of Vitré Communauté, as well as the entire Bocage swimming pool team, provide their support to his family and share their sorrow.”
Closed swimming pools
In solidarity with the family, the two Vitré Communauté swimming pools, that of Bocage in Vitré and Aqua'Va in La Guerche-de-Bretagne, will be closed until the end of the week. “This closing time will allow us to organize a time of contemplation, exchange and reflection with the teams.”
The little girl was discovered unconscious in a pool on October 30 while she was with a group of around forty children from a leisure center in Argentré-du-Plessis, a neighboring town. The emergency services managed to restart his heart before evacuating him in absolute emergency by helicopter to the Rennes University Hospital.
