Gard. Violent exit from the road for a family with two children in the car

It was around 5 p.m., Monday November 11, 2024, when the Gard firefighters were called to the Saint-Jean-du-Gard road, in Thoiras, to come to the aid of a family victim of a violent exit from the road. Significant emergency resources were immediately deployed on site: two ambulances, a road emergency vehicle, a nursing vehicle, a command vehicle as well as a dozen firefighters.

Four injured including two children

On site, firefighters took care of a small family, shocked by this accident in their car. The four victims, one 30 year old mana 28 year old woman et two children aged 5 and 4were taken care of before being transported to the Alès hospital center. They were only slightly injured.

The emergency intervention lasted more than 2h30at the level of the RD 907. “The roads service and the gendarmerie were present at the scene of the intervention”, specifies the SDIS of Gard.

Numerous accidents over the weekend

Several major accidents took place in the department during this long weekend of November 11. In Saint-Gilles, Saturday November 9, a car ended up on its roof. The driver, a 22-year-old man, was seriously injured.
