“At this new headquarters, we have a showroom on site to continue to highlight our know-how and, in 2025, we will set up a “flying” team to travel throughout France, which will allow us to be as close as possible to the opportunities that present themselves. » Currently, Unelo employs 22 employees, but next year, around twenty hires are planned.
“Our resource is inexhaustible, since today we have 50 million tonnes of sand which are dumped at sea each year by ports in France, and this causes a lot of damage to the seabed. These sediments are covered by the Leroy law, which will be in force in January 2025: the sand from dredging will arrive on land, and it will disrupt the economy. Thanks to our know-how in sediments, we now know how to valorize other products, such as crushed concrete or excavated soil. We are in close collaboration, for example, with Bordeaux Métropole, to establish ourselves there and hire locally. »
Roads without gas or oil
Thomas Chardin sees 2025 as a pivotal year: “We want to set up multi-local, set up agencies at the foot of these deposits, and offer new ways of making roads, 100% French, without gas and without oil, with low-grade cement. -carbon, made from clay by the Matterup company, with greater resistance than conventional. It is also to become their neighbor that we are moving to Saint-Geours-de-Maremne. »
Changing your habits in terms of public works does not happen in the blink of an eye. “We are also counting a lot on the courage of decision-makers to commit to eco-roads. » With a turnover which doubled, going from 2.1 to 4 million euros between 2023 and 2024, “we had very strong demand,” confirms the manager.
