“We don’t forget, we don’t forget them” testifies Didier Boulinguiez, president of the Elbeuvienne association “Coeur de Bleuet”. He was the guest of France Bleu Normandie on the occasion of the November 11 commemorations.
Ceremonies to commemorate the armistice of the Great War are organized in many municipalities in Eure and Seine-Maritime on November 11. Guest of France Bleu Normandie, Didier Boulinguiez, president of the Elbeuvienne association “Coeur de Bleuet” believes that these ceremonies are very important: “Above all, not to forget all these heroes, most of them anonymous, who did to be able to regain this freedom which is dear to us all. It is really very important to participate and to involve as many people as possible to precisely say 'We don't forget, we don't forget them.' There was Verdun, there was the Chemin des Dames in 1917, but there were also other battlefields in Salonika, in Italy, in the Somme.”
The association is looking for premises to create a museum
The “Coeur de Bleuet” association, which collects thousands of objects from the First World War, will be present in Heuqueville, in Eure, for the ceremony. Didier Boulinguiez will wear period attire for the occasion. “I will be dressed in a spahis uniform from the Constantine regiment. That is to say, I will wear a chechia, a bolero jacket, a burnous, a sky blue vest, sky blue harem pants, a traditional belt , a weapons belt, a bayonet, a rifle, calf bands and boots.”
From now on, the “Coeur de Bleuet” association would like to create a museum to exhibit its thousands of collectibles and involve the public. “We are currently looking for premises”, continues Didier Boulinguiez. “3,000 or 4,000 pieces, it takes up a lot of space and it would be interesting to be able to have a place, a collection place, a memorial place, a place where school students, children, young generations could immerse themselves. There you go , that’s what we would like.”
