The chase ended in the waters. This Friday, November 8, 2024, the driver of a vehicle refused to comply with a police check in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, indicates the public prosecutor's office Paris news. Pursued by members of the Mobile Intervention and Protection Unit (Umip), the fleeing vehicle ended up in Lake Daumesnil located in the Bois de Vincennes. According to a source close to the investigation, the driver was drunk.

It was 4 p.m. this Friday when a man in his truck refused to submit to a police check and fled. During the chase, the driver hits several vehicles, but causes no injuriesspecifies the prosecution.
Arriving in the Bois de Vincennes, the man gets out of his vehicle, before the latter ends up partly submerged in Lake Daumesnil. The driver is injured legs and headexplains a police source to Paris news.
Taken to a hospital, the man “degraded medical equipment”specifies our source who adds that the hospital has decided to file a complaint. Subsequently transferred to the police station, the motorist, this time, “spit on two police officers”.
He is currently in police custody. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the police station of the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
