Monday June 10, Angéline and Charlotte from Domaine de Lachayre in Lacquy, a brand new place dedicated to hosting events, hosted the third edition of the launch of the tourist season organized by the Landes d’Armagnac Tourist Office (OTLA).

Under the foliage of the estate’s airial tree, 110 people (accommodators, visiting sites, restaurant producers, elected officials, associations, etc.) were invited and met for a friendly moment which also marked the tenth anniversary of the Tourist Office.

Rainy spring

This meeting was also an opportunity to provide a lot of information on current projects and files. The participants thus learned that tourist activity, which started with a very rainy spring, was mixed but that the attendance of the long weekends in May compensated well. Reservation rates for this summer are currently equivalent to last year.

In terms of current projects and files, the Tourist Office is currently supported by the Scarabée agency which will soon present its recommendations to make the reception offices more modern and functional in view of the expectations of customers and services. This support is included in the new regional call for projects (ACTT) that the Tourist Office has joined as part of the Eco-destination, which includes the Landes d’Armagnac.

Digital Application

The Office is also considering the deployment of a digital Heritage Tour application which will tell the history of the villages in an innovative way, and will complement the three already existing Terra Aventura routes.

Last winter, the OTLA accompanied the Hilaire Buckmaster network association, responsible for perpetuating the memory, for the promotion of a memory path covering to date 11 municipalities in the territory, allowing the discovery of ten steles and nine plaques . A leaflet has been produced by the Office and is available in the reception offices.

This summer, guided tours, guided walks, visits to arenas and even appointments at the quilter will complete a rich program.
