A lovely surprise awaited a septuagenarian who had thought all her life she would be an only child. After taking a DNA test online, she discovers that she actually has an older sister and a brother.

Lorraine Williams learned of this revelation thanks to a genealogy test on the site MyHeritage.com. She then told the other two individuals last year, reported Global News.

The three people have the same father. It’s Mme Williams who grew up with him in Canada.

The septuagenarians exchanged a few messages online for several months before organizing a meeting. They finally came together for the first time in the United Kingdom. The British Columbia resident said it was a “joyful and ecstatic reunion.”

Josephine Morey, who lives in the United Kingdom, took the test on the same website as her sister. “I was so, so excited,” she told the Canadian media outlet. “I have no words to describe what I felt.”

The two women then found their half-brother, James McLaughlin, who also resides in the United Kingdom. “Even though we just met, it’s like we’ve known each other forever,” he said.

“If my father, finally, OUR father was here, I know he would have loved to see that,” said Lorraine Williams.
