In a video of more than twenty minutes published on his YouTube channel this Sunday, June 16, he indicates that “this decision will disappoint a lot of people, but it will relieve more.” He said he made this choice so that his candidacy would not be used “against LFI and the “New Popular Front”” at a time “where all energy must be used to beat the extreme right”.

Convicted of domestic violence

Adrien Quatennens was sentenced, in December 2022, for domestic violence to four months’ suspended imprisonment.

A few days before the announcement of his inauguration, the outgoing MP had circulated an anonymous text calling on left-wing women to vote for him. “Adrien Quatennens made the choice to immediately recognize an action dated more than a year ago that he had committed and regretted. He resigned from his position as national coordinator of the La France insoumise movement,” praised this text.
