The facts date back to Wednesday November 7.
During a road check, two men were arrested by the Ajaccio police station.
“The search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 315.9 grams of cannabis (belonging to the driver of the vehicle)explains Nicolas Septe, public prosecutor of Ajaccio, in a press release. The passenger in the vehicle admitted to having come to obtain drugs from his dealer.”
Also placed in police custody, the driver “admitted during his hearing to reselling narcotics in Ajaccio for around 6 months”specifies the head of the prosecution.
During his hearing by investigators, a bag containing seven kilos of cannabis resin was discovered on the public highway, “not far from the scene of the arrest”, places Nicolas Septe, before adding: “The person in custody admitted to being the owner. During the search of his home, cash and packaging materials for narcotics were found.”
Referred to the prosecution on Friday November 9, the driver of the vehicle was placed in pre-trial detention until his trial which will take place on January 3.
The passenger in the vehicle will be summoned to appear before the criminal court on January 14.
