A week after her fifth place in Leogang in Austria, Millavoise Marine Cabirou took second in the final of the Val di Sole event in Italy, fourth round of the downhill mountain bike world cup.

The Aveyron woman from the Scott Downhill Factory team was only beaten by the British Tahnée Seagrave, by 3 tenths in the end, ahead of the Slovenian Monika Hrastnik by 6! A pocket handkerchief therefore for a final run this Saturday in cloudy weather, but less muddy than the previous days during the qualifying runs.

Victorious on points!

Overall in the World Cup, Marine Cabirou remains third. But thanks to her fifth place in qualifying, then her fourth in the semi-final, the Aveyronnaise is the driver who obtained the most points (290) in Italy this weekend, ahead of her compatriot Myriam Nicole (280), and even the British final winner (276).

Also taking advantage of the 5th place this Saturday from the current leader of the general, the Austrian Valentina Höll, the Millavoise made a nice close in the general, only 9 points behind Seagrave (937 and 946) and 238 from Höll, still carried by her box full at home a week ago, 400 points out of 400 possible.

Next meeting for these downhillers, in less than three weeks… in France, in Haute-Savoie for the 5th of the 8 rounds on the menu this year. It promises !
