Every Sunday from November 21 until February 12, 2025, in the morning or at snack time, nature meetings allow you to meet the Gray Ladies. It is the season when thousands of birds including cranes fly over our region. Coming from the Nordic countries, they flee the rigors of winter towards more lenient regions and for some, they will establish their winter stopover in the Landes de Gascogne. Depending on their presence, observation sites, in the municipalities of Sabres, Morcenx, Solférino or Captieux, are organized to discover this large wading bird.
Two formulas on the program:• Family morning with a meeting from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., price €15 adult and €8 child under 12 years old. • Afternoon snack with the cranes, meet at 2 p.m. Duration 3 to 4 hours, prices €20 for adults and €10 for children under 12 years old. Appointments are set at the village square in Sabers or at the Captieux church. Depending on the presence of cranes, they are subject to change. Discovery and observation will be accompanied by an ornithologist to better understand this magical phenomenon.
Practical information: Loan of binoculars and telescope. Outings carried out from 10 people. Travel is by car to the areas concerned.
