Two consecutive days of vigilance: Météo-France has placed the Rhône department in yellow vigilance “thunderstorms” this Friday June 14 and Saturday June 15. New storms are forecast for the evening and night in Lyon. Thunderstorms are possible throughout the department this evening.

The return of a stormy episode is confirmed. Météo-France announces storms in the metropolis of Lyon, in Villefranche, in the north throughout Beaujolais and even on the Monts du Lyonnais.

Thunderstorms during the night from Friday to Saturday

During the night, thunderstorms are expected to persist in the south of the Rhône, the Val de Saône and the metropolis of Lyon as well as the north of Isère. They can be locally violentaccording to Météo-France.

Several departments are placed on yellow thunderstorm alert in central-eastern France, from Alsace to Cantal and Lozère. Vigilance also concerns Ain, or even the Loire.

The rest of the weekend promises to be calmer in the Rhône, between sun and hazy skies with maximum temperatures of 24°C in Lyon on Saturday and 27°C on Sunday.

Towards a heat “wave” in the coming days?

Météo-France forecasts predict many hot days next week. The maximums could be between 28°C and 30°C between Monday and the following weekend.

The last week of June also promises to be very warm and sunny with maximums of 29°C-30°C every day. However, Météo-France’s confidence index is 2/5 at this stage.
