In Morbihan, the entertainment world is worried about the rise of the National Rally

The cultural and artistic world is getting involved in the mobilizations that are taking shape, almost everywhere in France on Saturday June 15, 2024, in the face of the rise of the National Rally. In Morbihan as elsewhere, the unions of cultural actors are mobilizing. In Lorient, Thursday June 13, 2024, members of the Morbihan inter-union association (SNAM-CGT, SFA-CGT, SYNDEAC, SNSP, SNMS Spectacle) met, in a general assembly, in the setting of the Théâtre de Lorient studio .

The inter-union is first established “against the budget cuts announced by the Minister of the Economy. Given the catastrophic situation in the public sector of art and culture at the end of the 2023-2024 season, trade union organizations representing employees and employers are mobilizing to denounce the weakening of public services and our protection social. »

Question the candidates

But today the concern goes beyond that. In a political context in full upheaval, faced with the risk of the National Rally gaining power.

“We are stunned, say cultural professionals, by the score of the extreme right in our country, and extremely worried about what could come out of the legislative elections. We know that, in towns where the RN is present, deplore Youn Paranthoen (CGT Spectacle) and Mathieu Coblentz (Syndeac), freedom of expression and artistic programming are systematically called into question or prevented. We are mobilizing to defend values. »

The cultural sector unions also intend to challenge all legislative candidates “apart from those of the RN”, on their commitment and support for culture.
