As a preamble to the city ​​council meeting of Couville (Manche) Tuesday November 5, 2024Mayor Sédrick Gourdin read a letter sent by thecommunity lawyer on the subject of the so-called Trotte-boeuf aqueduct affair.

In this missive, it is noted that the Ministry of Ecological Transition has drafted “a defense brief” with the administrative court of Nantes to provide support to the municipality against SNCF Réseau.

Like us, the State had been implicated by SNCF Réseau; but we had never had any sign of life from the State on this issue despite several meetings with successive sub-prefects and prefects.

Remember that this case date from 2017 : after having realized development work of the Trotte-boeuf aqueducton which the Paris-Cherbourg linethe SNCF demands the bill of 1.1 million euros .

“Good news for us”

Today, the case is in the hands of the administrative court which rendered a judgmentin favor of the municipality last year. End of JanuarySNCF Réseau appealed this judgment and is still demanding this sum.

SNCF Réseau's appeal should be judged in December 2024. “The support from the State is good news for us, we hope to be done soon after almost 14 years of legal battles. »
