To protest against their working conditions, the department’s forestry agents are exercising their right of withdrawal from Monday June 10 until Friday June 15.

At the department’s forest resources service site in Coconi, all agents stopped working. There are around fifty of them. To express their fed up with their working conditions, they have exercised their right of withdrawal since Monday, June 10. According to them, they no longer have offices, cars to travel in the field or equipment to work “properly and safely”.

It’s already been last year, a year and a half since we alerted us to the situation, we are asking for more vehicles to move around in our various patrol missions and plant production missions. (..) It turns out that there were burglaries, not once but two or three times during the year. Until now, our offices have been completely closed without any solution behind it.

For the moment, forestry agents intend to exercise their right of withdrawal until Friday June 15, open to dialogue, they will be received this Tuesday afternoon by the deputy general director in charge of innovation and economic development at the department from Mayotte.
