Committed for two years to an environmental health approach, the Pays d'Orthe Arrigans crèche, located in Pouillon, wanted to offer children a healthier and more sustainable food offering. Registration in the Ecocert “En Cuisine” label results from the involvement of the director, the canteen nurse and the crèche teams.
Established for five years, Mireille Comet, the cook, provides meals every day for around sixty children, hosted in the two community crèches, in Pouillon and Peyrehorade. And one Wednesday a month, those of the children of the CCPOA family nursery.
Concerned about a healthy diet suitable for toddlers, director Chloé Croze and Mireille Comet are part of a “homemade” dynamic, limiting purchases of processed and industrial products, searching for local suppliers and organic products. .
The Les Landes au menu approach, supported by the Departmental Council, marks the desire to obtain this Ecocert label in cooking. And specific support supports the process.
Circuits courts
Increase the share of fresh, raw, local and seasonal products. Offer more plants. Work in short circuits. Diversify protein sources. Propose new adapted recipes, while controlling budgets and moving towards more virtuous practices. These are the main objectives associated with the labeling request.
Made up of Mireille Comet, Chloé Croze, Béatrice Badets (head of Early Childhood-Youth) and Gisèle Mamoser, vice-president of the CCPOA, the crèche team was “audited” by Ecocert in April and July 2024, obtaining thus achieving level 2 of Ecocert En Cuisine labeling and becoming the first daycare center in Landes to obtain such certification.
