According to information collected by Le Figarothe Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (Abef), a public institution serving as a voice for the authorities to regulate trade, summoned local banks on Monday, November 4 to inform them of a new measure: bank transactions. import and export, from and to France, can no longer be processed.
The information was given verbally by an organization which has, on paper, no prerogative to make such a serious decision. Furthermore, no official note exists. But an unauthenticated document summarizing what was said during this meeting circulated widely in the French community, fueling the worst fears.
