The alert was given around 2:30 a.m. During the night of Tuesday November 5 to Wednesday November 6, a fire quickly spread in a house located along Chemin de l'Écluse in Renneville, a small town located near Villefranche-de-Lauragais.
Ce building with a surface area of 100 m2having a ground floor and one floor, houses the town's rowing club. It was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene.
Risk of spread to a terraced house
The Haute-Garonne departmental fire and rescue service deployed on site around twenty firefighters. Two tank trucks, two ton pump vans and a vehicle with a pivoting ladder were mobilized.
Coming from the Villefranche-de-Lauragais, Ramonville Buchens, Montgiscard and Saint-Jory barracks, the firefighters were quickly confronted with a risk of the disaster spreading to an adjoining home. Two water lances were thus activated, including one from an aerial ladder.
