She is determined to raise the voice of curvy women, too often victims of the gaze of others, loud and clear. Angelique Laguanier42 years old, was elected Miss Ronde Île-de-France 2024 last August, during a ceremony held at Lognesin Seine-et-Marne. A coronation which allows the Briarde to compete for the title of Miss Ronde France 2025, the election of which will take place on 8 mars next.
“Make my difference a commitment”
“I have been coveting this title for several years! », rejoices the Seine-et-Marnaise native of Brie Nangissienne, which stood out for its speech in which she discussed the reason for her presence.
“I have always represented and supported the curvy woman through photo shoots and fashion shows, notably with the inclusive association The all sizes catwalk, which brings women and men in lingerie for more diversity. »
Helping teenagers
Since 2016, she has been competing in competitions. A way for her to fight judgments and prejudices.
“I participated in the Miss Ronde competition in 2016,” says Angélique Laguanier. And even though I wasn't elected, it made me want to continue to defend curvy women. I am part of it and therefore I too suffered criticism and malicious looks. Today we see many teenagers unhappy or hurt, or worse, because of the dictates of our society. I therefore chose to make my difference a daily commitment. »
These multiple ceremonies also allow it to raise awareness of fibromyalgiaa disease she suffers from, which causes pain, muscle weakness, chronic fatigue and sometimes memory and concentration problems. ” A invisible illness and little known that it is time to come out of the shadows,” she believes.
On March 8, 2025, she will try to take her values and her commitment even further: “We are already all winners, because we are all fighting the same fight with strength and courage! », concludes Angélique Laguanier.
