A 24-year-old woman was found tied up and partially undressed in Orgeix (Ariège). A suspect, close to the victim, is indicted for kidnapping and rape.
It is a sordid drama which took place on the night of October 23 to 24, 2024, in Orgeix (Ariège), a small village of around a hundred inhabitants, nestled between Ax-les-Thermes and Orlu, in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees.
A 24-year-old young woman was found in the early morning, in a field behind the Orgeix equestrian center, with her hands tied behind her back and partially undressed. After being treated by emergency services, the victim was transported to hospital. His state of health remains unknown at this time.
“A problem child”
An investigation was then carried out by the gendarmes of the Foix research brigade, with the support of the community of gendarmerie brigades of Ax-les-Thermes. A search warrant having been issued by the Foix public prosecutor's office, this investigation led to the arrest, on October 24, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, of a 22-year-old individual who is believed to be an acquaintance of the victim.
According to our information, the victim identified the son of the owner of the Orgeix equestrian center as the main suspect. This 22-year-old young man would be known as a “problem child”, having been out of school.
Placed in police custody, the suspect was presented on Friday October 25 before the investigating judge of the Foix court, indicted for kidnapping and rape, then placed in pre-trial detention. The victim and his family are said to be from near the town of Ax-les-Thermes.
