No question of being overwhelmed by the super metro. This is essentially the meaning of the consultation that the town of Bois-Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine) has just launched. The goal is to define what matters currently and what will improve this sector of the city.
“The arrival of the new station on line 15 West of the Grand Paris Express (GPE) metro in the heart of the city center will bring new perspectives and significant changes, both in the urban appearance and in the functioning of the district. This constitutes an exceptional opportunity to rethink the city center of tomorrow,” says Bois-Colombes.
Pedestrian square, new modes of travel, identity of public spaces and their greening, needs for new equipment, accessibility, commercial dynamism and economic activity, or even the balance between economic development and housing are all subjects on which the municipality intends to collect the opinions of its fellow citizens.
The stakes are high. Bois-Colombes must accommodate two stations on line 15 west, that of Bécon, this district on the Courbevoie side but bordering Bois-Colombes and Asnières, and the other, in the city center. It's a small revolution that will sweep through the center with its narrow streets and one-way streets. With nearly a hundred meetings before the city and the company for major projects (SFP) reached an agreement, the subject is extremely sensitive.
The future of the center and the metro project are closely linked. The consultation was launched on October 14, with the presentation of the online questionnaire. Two workshops will follow: that of November 14 will focus on public spaces and that of November 18, on economic development and attractiveness.
At the same time, the SGP, long accused of all evils due to the expected disruptions to its future construction site, is organizing a new public meeting this Monday, November 4, at 8 p.m., in the Jean-Renoir room (7, villa des Aubépines ). The opportunity to find out more about the schedule and progress of the construction of this major project. Work could begin in 2025 or 2026. Commissioning is still announced for 2030.
