Swimmers attending the Aqualis intercommunal swimming pool in Gouvieux (Oise), near Chantilly, will have to find a new base if they want to continue swimming laps this winter.
Inaugurated 20 years ago, this intercommunal facility will be partially closed to the public from November 4 to February 24, 2024.
The site, which welcomes local users and schools, but also a large number of nearby residents, had already undergone extension work six years ago. It will close its doors again for a duration of 4 months this winter so that new renovation work can be undertaken aimed at reduce the energy bill of the equipment.
As part of a reflection on the future of its heritage, the CCAC had embarked on a process of saving energy and water for its equipment.
An expected saving of almost 900,000 kWh
Following a energy audit carried out at the end of 2022 and defining the possible scenarios, around forty avenues were submitted to the owner. The community of municipalities ultimately selected only five, which require heavy work.
This is how the system water filtering will be modified. To reduce evaporation losses, thermal blanket will also be installed in the outdoor pool.
“The implementation of all of these developments represents a saving of 890 287 kWh per yearor 18.5% of the energy consumption of the equipment as well as 4 864 m3 of water per yearor 15.8% of annual consumption! », specifies the Cantilian Area.
The cardio and balneotherapy areas will remain accessible during the work
During the work, fitness, cardio, sauna and balneotherapy areasand the area of activities will nevertheless remain open to the public. “All aquatic and fitness activities” will also be maintained during this period (except École de l’O).
“However, some disruptions may occur during the work period.”
Indoor and outdoor swimming areas However, they will remain inaccessible to the public.
Subscription: refund requests will be studied
Swimmers with subscriptions in this pool will naturally be compensated.
“Aqualis will examine the reimbursement request for your subscription if it cannot be postponed or extended”, reassures the community of municipalities, which adds that “subscriptions to the O school will be reimbursed at height of the number of sessions that could not be provided during the year”.
