The town of Panazol, in Haute-Vienne, is launching a fundraiser from Monday November 4 for its twin town of Picanya, in Spain. Located in the suburbs of Valence, the town was particularly affected by the floods.

The objective is to “meet the essential needs of residents hit hard by this climate catastrophe”indicates the mayor of Panazol, Fabien Doucet, in a press release. A collection of goods and materials to be transported to the Spanish city will also be set up, but “time is not for rushing”car “access to Picanya” are “still blocked”writes the mayor.

The councilor also wants to send aid of 20,000 euros to Picanya, covered by the budget of the Upper Viennese city. This proposal will be submitted to a vote by the Municipal Council which will be held this Monday.
