In his podcast The Movethe American Lance Armstrong analyzed the course of the next edition of the Tour de France. Accompanied by his former team partners US Postal, Johan Bruyneel (his former sports director) and George Hincapie (his former teammate), the American is very clear on the fact that the course created by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) is not at all unfavorable to Tadej Pogacar. Lance Armstrong believes that great cyclists adapt to all courses and that, barring a miracle, the strongest always wins.

Lance Armstrong: “The Tour de France? 99 times out of 100, the best win.”
“I've read comments on ASO and the Tour, which say the same thing, saying they are trying to test Pogacar with the course. We have heard that every year, after a few Tours, we look at this design compared to Pogacar or Armstrong. None of this matters. I always joked that if they ever decided to do 22 criteriums around Paris, we would have to figure out how to win. There can be nothing against it, if you are Pogacar you have to study how to do it. This conversation makes no sense; the best cyclists are prepared for the courses. It's the Tour, and 99 times out of 100, the best win,” explain Lance Armstrong.
Johan Bruyneel: “The Tour de France 2025? A return to a traditional route”
Johan Bruyneelformer sports director of Lance Armstrong in the team US Postalappreciates the journey of the 112th edition of the Tour de France. “I think the main novelty of the Tour de France 2025 is the return to a traditional route. The first week is not difficult, the first mountain stage doesn't arrive until the 12th, which is too late, and it's a return to the good old days. The best rider with the best team always wins the Tour de France without bad luck. In terms of elevation, it's more or less the same as this year. I like the design. I like the design,” comments the 60-year-old Belgian.
The 51-year-old American, George Hincapieespecially talks about safety, which will be a primary factor due to the change in the type of course: “In recent years there was a fight for the general classification from the first days. Now this is no longer the case, which will make the race safer in the early stages, with runners thinking about getting to the finish line,” concludes the former runnerUS Postal, George Hincapie.
