It will start from 9 a.m. near the castle.
The annual digging competition organized by the Canine du Lot will be held on Sunday, November 10 in the immediate vicinity of the Labastide-Marnhac castle, owned by the municipality. This year, some 73 dogs of all breeds from all over France will come and compete from the start of the events, set for 9 a.m. Then, until 11 a.m., each canine will seek to obtain the best possible score in order to qualify to participate in the next French championship scheduled for February 2025. Currently the best time established to find the six truffles is 38 seconds. Such a performance obviously implies a significant complicity and as much work between the master and his dog, with an essential mutual understanding as a result. For this competition, Colette Le Meny and Julian Gomez will serve as official judges. Being selected for the French championship implies a combination of the 5 best competitions of the season in at least 2 different regional regions. The 25 best LOF dogs (registered in the French stud book) and 5 non-LOF dogs will go to the championship.
