The festivities began last Friday, on private land located in Saint-Pierre-d'Exideuil, in the Vienne department, according to information from The New Republic.
Even though the party was in full swing this weekend, having managed to bring together 300 people, it was illegal. In fact, two prefectural decrees had banned this type of gathering during the week.
Numerous police checks
This free party, which took place on private land, was organized with the agreement of the owner. In order to secure the gathering, the sector's gendarmerie brigade carried out numerous checks around the party. An operation “to control and ensure the safety of participants”, explained the prefecture in a press release published this Saturday evening.
Thus, “several checks for narcotics, alcohol levels and lack of license have already been carried out”, specifies the institution. In addition to the police on site, two associations made the trip to warn revelers of the risks linked to drug consumption. Two stands were therefore set up to distribute documentation on drug use and “sterile and healthy injection equipment”, in addition to earplugs and condoms.
