the essential
For two evenings, in Brooklyn, two Aveyron chefs came to cook Aveyron specialties to launch the project of the thirty-year-old from Montrozier. Les Champs du Sud proposes to open the doors of Aveyron to New Yorkers, looking for an “authentic and off the beaten track” stay, to help them meet those who make the department move.

Like a taste of Aveyron, but on the plate. Friday and Saturday evening, in the heart of Brooklyn at the Frog Wine Bar, in New York, Luc Pourrat, at the head of the restaurant La Maison, in , and Guillaume Méjane, from the Mayrihnac farm, spun the aligot, prepared farçous, all accompanied by wines to match these flavors from Aveyron. This dinner, in the heart of New York, which brought together nearly 200 guests, is the second stage of a project born last summer. Established across the Atlantic for 12 years, Daphné Jouanneteau took advantage of this opportunity to launch her new project: Les champs du sud. The idea is to offer trips to Aveyron for New Yorkers. Stays also called “rural therapy”, for people who are looking for “authenticity and trips off the beaten track”, explains Daphné Jouanneteau who built her career around events.

What Aveyron has to offer

“It is a project which also allows me to connect my two points of attachment, New York of course but also Aveyron, where I grew up (Montrozier, Editor's note), and where I return each time with great of happiness.”

How was the idea for such a project born? “I still have a lot of childhood friends in Aveyron, and over the course of my stays since I was little, we realized that the department had evolved a lot, particularly with young people who had experiences elsewhere and who returned to the department to create their business, says Daphné Jouanneteau. I find that they bring new ideas, a new breath too. And it was during a meal at Bras, in Laguiole, that I was. amazed by the landscape, and everything that the department had to offer, everything started from there, from this desire to discover and share this authenticity which characterizes Aveyron. To launch her concept, she surrounded herself with two friends, two from Aveyron. “It is very important that the people who participate in the project know the department,” underlines the woman who was born in Chambray-les- (Indre-et-), in June 1993. Victor Verse, of Maison Rouge Studio, director Artistic for the entire LCDS brand. And Annabel Gueret who joined forces with Victor Verse, “to work on the identity of the brand”. A first stay in Aveyron should be organized by next summer, with a handful of carefully selected people. “It’s not a travel agency,” she assures. “Everyone must feel comfortable in the group and be in line with the project.”

The upcoming meetings are already in the mind of Daphné Jouanneteau who intends to open the doors of Aveyron wide to lovers of authenticity.
