Anti-Semitic inscriptions were discovered on the morning of Monday October 28, on a stand at the Pareau stadium in Coulounieix-Chamiers. A complaint will be filed by the municipality.

After a quiet weekend, the Coulounieix-Chamiers football club not playing in its stadium 'where only the reserves played there on Saturday evening', it was a bad discovery made by a maintenance agent within from the Pareau stadium. On the morning of Monday October 28, the latter came across an anti-Semitic tag, with a Star of David accompanied by an “anti-Jewish” mention on a stadium stand. Municipal technical services worked to remove these inscriptions “as quickly as possible”, indicates the City in a press release.

“The City condemns with the greatest firmness such racist and anti-Semitic actions, which are totally incompatible with Republican values. » A complaint will be filed in order to initiate “measures which will shed light on these despicable acts and find the perpetrators”. According to the mayor of the town, Thierry Cipierre, a video surveillance system is present at the entrance to the stadium, “but above all I want to know what happened during the night and to discover any suspicious behavior”. An act which is a first in the municipality. “There were tags on a brewery a few days ago, but that has nothing to do with this act,” adds the councilor. We cannot let this pass, otherwise it will open the door to these acts. »
