Haute-: a logger airlifted in absolute emergency after fracturing his leg

A 26-year-old lumberjack was seriously injured at his workplace, in a forest in Monastier-sur-Gazeille, near the village of Choulet, this Monday, October 28, late in the morning.

A place difficult to access for emergency services

The Dragon 69 helicopter was dispatched to the scene to transport the victim in absolute emergency to the North hospital in Saint-Étienne. Difficult to access, the accident site was located approximately one kilometer from the nearest road.A dozen firefighters and five emergency vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

Under the command of Captain Raymond Chaussende, a dozen firefighters from Monastier, Laussonne and Coubon came to the aid of the victim of this work accident, who was conscious throughout the intervention. Among the firefighters were five members of GRIMP du Puy, the unit specializing in rescue in dangerous environments.
