Man stabbed to death in the street, suspect arrested

A man was stabbed to death this Thursday at midday in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne), in front of a restaurant. Quickly on site, the police arrested the alleged perpetrator, we learned. News17.

The murder occurred on the Adamville-Kennedy square around noon. The victim, a man who was 78 years old according to our information, received multiple blows with a long knife from his attacker. The latter was still on the square when the police arrived. “He was among the onlookers and witnesses”, explains a Source close to the matter. Emergency services were unable to do anything to resuscitate the victim who died on the spot from his serious injuries.

The motives of the suspect, who is an Egyptian national, remain unknown at this time. The latter suffers from psychiatric disorders, according to several sources. This man was taken into custody and is expected to undergo a behavioral examination in the coming hours.

Investigators from the Val-de-Marne departmental judicial police service (SDPJ 94) are responsible for the investigations. The police were still on site carrying out findings at 4:30 p.m.
