After qualifying in the regional final last April at the CFA in Gevingey (Jura), Alban Côte-Colisson, 16, became one of the ten best apprentice bakers in last week. He is one of the ten winners of the national final, which took place from October 16 to 18 in .

“A liberation”

“I had to produce several required products in front of a jury of six people. Croissants, a braided brioche, traditional bread, country bread, fancy baguettes, three kinds of rolls, croissants, pain au chocolat, remembers the young Haut-Doubien. You had to reach a score of 18/20 to be titled. Overall, I am satisfied with my work, knowing that we had an oral presentation to explain to two Best Workers in France what we had done well or less well in this competition. »

The day after his latest achievements, Alban was summoned to the CFA. It was at that moment that he learned that he was one of the ten best apprentices in France. “The wait for the result was long and stressful. When I was called, everything fell back, it was a liberation. » The young baker evokes a “great satisfaction”, a “dream”. He does not hide his desire to continue to enter other competitions and why not one day qualify for the Bakery World Cup.

For Alexandre Michelin, the manager of the bakery of the same name in where Alban is completing his apprenticeship – who appeared in 2022 in the M6 ​​show “The best bakery in France” -, seeing his apprentice obtain this great reward is the fruit of all his work and his daily involvement. “It is well deserved. Alban will receive his beautiful medal in March 2025 at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in Paris.
