The citizen ceremony organized by the Haute-Garonne Section of the National Association of Members of the National Order of Merit took place last Saturday.

The Météo France site hosted the traditional Citizens’ Ceremony on Saturday organized by the Haute-Garonne Section of the National Association of Members of the National Order of Merit (ANMONM 31).

Honored this year by the presence of Dominique Faure, Minister Delegate in charge of local authorities and rurality, this ceremony highlighted and rewarded the deserving youth of our department, for their exemplary behavior, through individual or collective acts of civics, citizenship and civility.

The Collective Civics Prize was awarded to students, members of the choir, from the Elisabeth Badinter college in Quint-Fonsegrives for the creation of a magnificent song paying homage to the soldiers who fell on the field of honor during external operations, a song that ‘they performed during the ceremony. As for the Individual Civics Prize, it was awarded this year to two young girls: Paloma Wiart Vigneaux from Miramont-de-Comminges for her remarkable commitment to serving others, as an ambassador of secularism, security cadet, as well as a first aider with the Red Cross and the SDIS, which she will very soon join as a volunteer firefighter at the Saint-Gaudens barracks.

Alexandra FATH, final year student at Les Maristes high school in Toulouse, junior vice-champion of Occitanie in table tennis 2024, for her active participation, since the age of 14, in the training of disabled athletes within her ASPTT club in Toulouse. If Alexandra provides advice, assistance and kindness to young table tennis players with physical or mental disabilities, what interests her above all is “people”. Before closing the ceremony, 6th grade students at the Toulouse-Lautrec college in Toulouse, as part of their duty to remember, brought nine great republican figures to life, through a theatrical and musical libretto.
