Five minors were found guilty this Wednesday, May 29 by the Bobigny children’s court for anti-Semitic chants at the end of October in the Paris metro, a filmed sequence which hit the headlines after being widely distributed on social networks, said the prosecution. to the AFP.

Four of them, presented before the court on May 15, were found guilty of public insult on the grounds of religion but acquitted of advocating crimes against humanity.

Conversely, the fifth convicted teenager was found guilty of glorifying a crime against humanity, but acquitted of insult.

A minor presented to court in the fall

The hearing for their sanctions is set for January 2025.

Two other young people, also tried, were completely acquitted. An eighth minor involved in the case will be presented to court in the fall.

On October 31, anti-Semitic chants or remarks were filmed on metro line 3. They had been reported to the public prosecutor’s office by the Police Prefecture, the RATP and the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism.
