A major strike movement will affect a very large part of pharmacies in Occitanie This Thursday May 30, 2024.

A massive movement that had not been observed for many years. This mobilization aims to alert the government and the population on the economic difficulties encountered by the profession, particularly concerning drug shortages. Several gatherings are planned across the region, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Several pharmacies requisitioned in Ariège

In this context, Simon Bertoux, prefect of Ariège, decided to issue a prefectural decree in order to requisition several pharmacies All day long :

• Considering that the announced closure of pharmacies will not make it possible to meet the needs of the population, and that it is likely to compromise the continuity of care and create a serious risk for public health;
• Considering the obligation for a community pharmacist to participate in the public service mission of permanent care;
• Considering the need to facilitate access to an open pharmacy for the most isolated areas […]

This decision follows a proposal from the Director General of the Occitanie Regional Health Agency (ARS).
