Friday October 25, Valérie Debord, first vice-president of the Grand Est region, was on a field visit to South Haute-Marne, to Langres, Montsaugeon and Rivière-les-Fosses, a village where she has family ties.
It was under magnificent sunshine that Mayor Edith Sellal and the elected officials of Rivière-les-Fosses welcomed Valérie Debord. Laurent Aubertot, president of the Auberive Vingeanne Montsaugeonnais community of communes (CCAVM) as well as Sophie Delong, vice-president of the Territories commission in the Region were also present.
The elected officials were able to discuss with the first vice-president of the Grand Est on the projects to be carried out locally. Among these are the change of water meters, an important item planned in the budget for the next three years, and the creation of a conviviality zone. The renovation of the wash house and the expansion of the cemetery are planned in the longer term.
A short stroll allowed us to show the war memorial, recently renovated, and the church, currently being restored.
Return to his grandparents' village
It was an opportunity for Valérie Debord, born in Chaumont, to revisit her past and the moments experienced in Rivière. “In this visit, there is a personal part and a part linked to my mandate. Coming back to the village where my grandparents lived and died is very moving. At the same time, it is part of our missions to support a municipality that has projects. The idea of creating a grocery store, a place of conviviality, co-working, is really interesting. Examples of this type exist in the Vosges. These are projects likely to energize the village. We can support the conviviality zone project. » she specifies.
“We have lots of ideas to submit to you. This is our first mandate and we are very invested,” replied Mayor Edith Sellal.
The visit then continued at the Lingone brewery, in the company of Anne-Marie Nédélec, senator from Haute-Marne and Charles Guené, former senator. It was at the Agricultural Show that Valérie Debord discovered that whiskey was produced in Rivière-les-Fosses. The promise having been made to discover the brewery, it was done.
Circuit court et production locale
Felix Sancho, president of Lingone, welcomed the visitors by speaking of the brewery as a very strong environmental project.
Jérémie Poppé, the brewer, guided the group throughout the different stages of production. He insisted on remaining in the short circuit with the project of working with the future Arc-en-Barrois malthouse and on the planting of hop plants. The visit ended with explanations of the distillation process given by Thierry Fouet, in charge of the production of this organic and local whiskey.
“The region has invested in this project, it is normal to come and see it on site. It’s really a great achievement in a rural area,” concluded Valérie Debord, seduced by the facilities and the brewery room. At the end of this stage, the meeting was given in Montsaugeon, at the Tour des Villains before a meeting planned at the CCAVM.
